I hate to tell you this, but all the water is held together and circulated through the tanks and filtration, SO the water in the water works is not just absolute fresh water, rather is just recycled all together, so the water comming from the pool could be used to fill out the water works,

For cruisers leaving from Cape Liberty, if you are driving and staying over night...I suggest the Aloft hotel in Secaucus, NJ or any of the nearby hotels. It's affordable, offers free parking, and is minutes away from The American Dream!

Get a taxi and go to rays boathouse to eat, well worth the ride and get the halibut cheeks if they have it. Also do the underground seattle tour and visit the aquarium.

Brooklyn probably has the best pizza.

Don't forget the tax you pay on your drinks before getting to international waters

Being this is my home port, and I live 30 minutes from the port, you did a great job, hotel prices are insanely high around Mardi Gras, Book them as soon as you can, also FYI, active duty military and Veterans park free at the carnival cruise port.

My husband and I went here on Cozumel day for our 20th anniversary. It was the most relaxing, pleasant day.

We went on a duck tour (land and sea) which took us around the city and then into the water where we saw the houseboat used in the movie Sleepless in Seattle.

I highly recommend a car service, “Carmel Car Service “. I’ve used them 5 times so far. 50.00 from LGA which compares very favorably to regular cabs. This car is always right there to pick you up and will deliver you to front door. I cannot get over the convenience.

Born, raised and still living in SF. There’s a better cruise terminal, but my guess is that since Princess has the lease on it, they might be having a ship docked or soon to dock there. Pier 39 also has changed quite a bit, and personally, I like their sea food options. Some native may scoff at me for saying it, but whatever. My favorite is the Franciscan. As for the rumors and the talk, not gonna deny it, just need to be aware of your surroundings, don’t leave valuables visible in your rental car, and try not to act like a, well…a tourist. I’m the same way when I travel to other questionable places around the US and world.

We are looking for a "new" cruise line having cruised on Disney 25 times along with others prior to DCL. Have a HAL cruise booked for November and all of the things you discussed as being niceties are also on DCL. Turn down chocolates, free room service 24/7, main dining open for breakfast/lunch, etc. I think I might really like HAL. I was concerned it was for "old people" although we are now in our early 60's :)

Amtrak is such an overlooked and underestimated option, especially if cruising out of Manhattan. You can walk to the cruise terminal from the station as it's only about 2 miles away. But, if you can't walk or you have a bunch of luggage, you're right at Time Square and an Uber/Lyft or Taxi will be instant. And, Amtrak is going to cost you less than $100.

With a rental car, or city bus, go to Ballard and walk around the Chittenden Locks. This is the manmade canal that connects Lake Washington to the Puget Sound. Boats of all sizes travel into the locks to switch to the different bodies of water. I often see seals joining the boats. Then cross over the walkways to the far side, then down the ramp where you will see viewing windows to watch salmon return to the lake and streams to spawn. No cost to be in the park, though there are parking fees. A few blocks away is a glass blowing studio. Dale Chihuly’s studio is not far too. If your budget it tight, and you have blown your $$ on the cruise, and you are up to a more primitive, budget friendly lodging, stay at Camp Long. The cabins hold up to 12, for $50 a night. Contact Seattle Parks well in advance of your dates. Just outside of the park is a bus line. Yes, you will need bedding, which might not be easy.

This is so weird. I follow you religiously (and met you on the Carnival Panorama) and just saw the Prima in Amsterdam when we left there yesterday. That’s pretty strange. Have a great trip.

Sorry I missed your live video. I was on the top deck of the Ovation watching the icebergs float by. We are having a grand time in Alaska. Last night we celebrated my in-laws 62 wedding anniversary at Chops. We had a fantastic dinner. I am so glad you were able to book their cruise and our friends too. This will be my father in laws last big trip. Thank you for making it such a wonderful time, I hope your trip turns out as well as ours has so far.
